Description: Located in a posh locality in Nungambakkam, Chennai for a Muslim client with requirement of a multi-family luxury apartment design that reflects Islamic ideologies with a modern touch.

On an elongated site measuring 110 ft x 40 ft the 3-storey high apartment is split in to two portions horizontally with two access cores for each of the portions in 3 levels. The ground level contains stilt parking in the front portion and a 2-bedroom unit on the rear portion. The first floor has a duplex unit on the front and a spacious 4-bedroom unit on the rear. The second floor contains a 4-bedroom unit and a 1-bedroom on the on the rear. The access cores has a lift a L-staircase with the core the front being a private one providing access only to the duplex unit with a private terrace above belonging to the client and the other core on the rear to access the other 3 living units on the upper levels.

Each of the apartment is skillfully planned and well litoffering opportunities for public spaces (majlis) to be separated sectionally from the private family functions .

The exterior design is strikingly modern with a minimalist material palette consisting of white finished walls, wooden cladding and Islamic patterned jaalis. The pergola above the private terrace, the projecting and recessing balconies and the perforated screens create an interesting interplay of light and shade.
